Solid speaker all-around.
Solid speaker, loud, clear, small. Background: I have owned a lot of computer speakers and speakers of all sizes and I work as in audio. I’m not a complete expert, but I do have a ton of experience in all things sound. For a speaker that can fit in your pocket, this thing is really good. I bought it for a vacation, so we could play music in our cabin, and it delivered well beyond my expectations. It was plenty loud, with more room to go. There is a major difference from listening to things straight from a laptop, tablet, or phone with little effort and it sounds pretty close to a real speaker setup.Battery: The battery lasted just around 8 hours of nearly continuous play. A nice feature: it shuts down after awhile if it does not detect a signal from your device. Great for saving battery and not forgetting to turn it off.Build Quality: Very durable, it seems. It has a rubber shell. I would say you could drop this off a roof and it would survive. A nice option for camping, vacations, bonfires, rugged activities where it may take some abuse, but also where a power supply doesn’t come easy and you need portability. The blue color with grey and orange accents is really nice.Sound Quality: I found the sound to be clear, with plenty of volume. There are speakers that project nicely, without being “loud” – I would not put this into that category, but those speakers cost at least 4x the price. There were times where it seemed to be getting too loud for everyone. But, for the price, that is nothing to complain about. There is a lot of bass, but not a crazy amount (which a lot of brands think more bass means good). It has a pretty even EQ; you can hear everything well. Since it is portable, just move it around the room and find the best spot where it can be heard, but won’t be in everyone’s face, isn’t bouncing off reflections like hard surfaces, and it will sound awesome.Value: Well worth the money. I will be using this a lot, i can already tell. JBL is a very experienced brand in this department. I have heard other bluetooth speakers. Although I haven’t A/B compared anything else, this one sounds just as good as anything else out there I can remember, including the more expensive JBL tube.

Small But Mighty – Perfect for Shower & Travel
I bought the JBL Go 4 in March 2025 on Amazon, mainly for use in the shower, and Iβve been seriously impressed. For such a small, ultra-portable speaker, it delivers amazing sound quality with surprisingly punchy bass. It gets plenty loud, although you may notice a bit of distortion at the highest volume levels – nothing unexpected for a speaker of this size.Bluetooth connection is solid, and the range has been more than sufficient whether Iβm using it in the bathroom or outside. The battery life has been excellent – I havenβt tested the full 7-hour limit since I usually top it off before then, but itβs never come close to dying on me. Charging is fairly quick, depending on the charger youβre using.Iβve also taken it with me on a camping trip, and it proved to be rugged enough to handle outdoor use. It held up great in wet and dusty conditions, and has handled regular use in the shower without any issues. So Iβd say the waterproofing holds up well based on my experience. The build quality feels premium with a grippy rubberized housing thatβs easy to hold, and the compact size makes it perfect to toss in a bag or hang on a hook. I didnβt buy it for the recycled materials, but itβs a nice bonus to know itβs made with sustainability in mind.Iβm giving the Go 4 a solid 5 stars because it truly delivers on sound, durability, and portability for the price. Iβd recommend it to anyone looking for a dependable shower speaker or something to use on a camping trip where you want clear sound without being disruptive to others nearby. It just works.

Highly recommend
Iβm seriously impressed with the JBL Go 4! Donβt let the small size fool you β the sound is clear, rich, and surprisingly loud for such a compact speaker. Itβs perfect for my desk, travel, or tossing in a bag for a day out on the golf course. The built-in finger loop makes it easy to carry, and the waterproof/dustproof design gives me peace of mind when Iβm using it outdoors. Battery life has been solid β Iβve gotten close to 9 hours with the Playtime Boost feature on.All in all, this is a fantastic little speaker that punches way above its weight.

Just what I needed to hear TV better!
Just what I needed! I bought a couple of these because our TVs are getting old and the sound isn’t great. This puts the sound near me as I cook in the kitchen, banging pots and pans, so I can hear without blasting the house. It connects easily with the TV has just the right amount of controls and is easy to see if it needs charging. PLUS its waterproof, so I can take it to the bath if I want to soak a bit. Good product, price is right, sound isn’t perfect but great for the price and better than other speakers.

A little flawed, but good for the price.
It’s JBL, so you already know it sounds good. Some people complained about it being too quiet, mine is very loud even with a preamp set to -2db. Decent battery, solidly built, feels good to carry around – but it’s got a few problems.-The cloth covering wasn’t completely glued down in one spot. I was able to sort of push it back into the shell, and it seems okay for now, but I might have to superglue it down later.- The notification sounds don’t scale with volume, and they’re bizarrely loud. The ‘power down’ sound is particularly annoying and always scares my cat.- Bass makes it vibrate pretty badly with the volume up, to the point where it physically slides across flat surfaces when standing upright. If you don’t prop it against something, it could easily fall off a table.- As with all JBL products, the charging cable is very short (only 1ft) so you will need another USBC cable in most cases. All in all I’m still willing to give it 4 stars since it does sound good for the price, but I hope they make some improvements if they make a GO5.

Portable Powerhouse
I have absolutely no complaints. First and foremost, the sound quality from this little thing is bang on. The small size, ready to party packaging and protection are just what I was looking for. Setting it on the table on the deck, taking it kayaking and anywhere else outdoors could not be easier or stress-free. Pairing is seamless and stable and being able to control playback via my phone and/or the speaker is wonderfully convenient. The battery lasts a long time and charges back up quickly. Can’t really ask for more. I might even grab a second one.

Holy wow, I didnβt know this was possible!
Holy Cow. These things are AMAZING! My wife and I go kayaking pretty often and we had the 3 version so only one of us could really hear it at a time. Decided to upgrade to the 4s because theyβre able to connect to each other. Works perfectly! Then, I got the app for JBL and saw they could do stereo sound. Figured Iβd try them with a good test song for stereo out on my deck, Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen(see picture for where I have the speakers away from themselves). It is crazy how well they can do stereo! Itβs pretty much like if I was wearing earphones for the stereo they can make happen! Would I recommend these? Definitely! One sounds great by itself, crazy loud at full volume with absolutely no distortion. Get two? 100% more crazy amazing! If youβre looking for a great portable speaker for the boat/beach/anywhere really, this is the speaker you wonβt be disappointed with. Get two? Insane (in a great way)! These are probably the only pair of speakers Iβll ever need and getting two for the price of one upper end expensive portable speaker? Yes. If youβre on the fence, get two to put on both sides of that fence and the stereo will put your mind and ears at ease! 10 stars easily if I could!

Sounds good for the size.
I like this little guy. I got it to hook to my bedroom laptop so I can listen to pods and tunes while falling asleep. It’s more than loud enough, I’ve never turned it up to max, 50% is more than adequate and has a nice tone. Laptop speakers are trash, this is a good upgrade. I got JBL because I have one of their tubes for my main room and the sound really kicks butt, so took a flyer on this mini-sized one and was not disappointed at all. You probably want something a little bigger for out on your patio, though. This is for bed, camping, in the shower, things like that. It’s about the size of a deck of cards.
